Creatine
In the human body, approximately half of the creatine stored in the muscles comes from food, and that only the non-vegetarian one. Vegetables just don't have it, hence vegetarians are bound to have lower levels of muscle creatine, but luckily creatine supplementation raises it to a level even higher than in meat-eaters.
Creatine supplements are standard athletic aids to improve extreme-level athletic performance. Though people knew about creatine as long back as 1900, but it was only in 1992 that it started getting consumed as a performance-enhancing supplement.
